We participated in several contests recently. The NA QSO Party using phone (SSB) yielded close to two dozen contacts. For the first time we joined in on the World Wide Digital Contest. Using the FT8 Digital mode, we contacted 40 stations. This mode utilizes radio combined with computers allowing us to make contacts with weak signals. Argentina, New Zealand, Brazil, and Chile were among the International contacts. Dan, KN6DRN earned his America250 Worked All States award, congratulations!

These contests are fun but they also keep us and our equipment ready in case of emergencies. By participating in these contests we test our communication skills as well as troubleshoot any equipment malfunctions.

Meetings are held at the South Tower every Monday night at 6:30 PM. Our club conducts a weekly radio network at 7:00 PM every Monday on the W6LHR Repeater at 147.030 MHz, 167.9 PL.
