Field Day 2026 for the LHARG was a smashing success. Despite antenna challenges, Excel freezing up and wind gusts, the Team came through. Antenna experimentation was undertaken by Mark, KM6HDI. A vertical soaring into the air was hoisted up and down several times to achieve a low SWR. Mark also built a tabletop “shack-in-a-box” allowing for easier viewing in our Northern California sunlight. John, NQ6Q set his own goal of trying to contact all 50 States on Field Day. He came close with 44. 

We had a delicious Pizza Party at dinnertime with special beverages and even a Birthday celebration of Dan’s, KN6DRN Daughter.

The Club had 64 Phone contacts and 215 Digital QSO’s. We accumulated 1,310 
Bonus Points and our total Preliminary score was 2,308.

Meetings are held at the South Tower every Monday night at 6:30 PM. Our club conducts a weekly radio network at 7:00 PM every Monday on the W6LHR Repeater at 147.030 MHz, 167.9 PL.
